end
I was shocked when I found out that I take up two and a half planets. I didnt think that I was wasting so many resources. I ride my bike everywhere, I eat at andros, I don't buy new clothes, I live in a dorm, and I don't even fly anywhere. There are some things that I could do to change how big my footprint is. I realized that I do leave the lights on a lot when I dont even need them. I also sleep with the TV on. So changing those habits were not as tough as others. I tried to remember to recylce any plastic bottle that threw away that day. I don't eat that much meat in the first place, but I didn't have any. I made sure I rode my bike everywhere, and I took a quick shower. When I did laundry I used cool water. I asked my parents if they would consider getting solar panels for the house and, that didn't go over so well. But I tried to do better and when I took the test again, it didn't make much of a difference.

end
End.
I can't believe that I went a whole day without technology. No phone, no TV, no computer, no ipod, no radio, no video games, and I didn't even used a microwave. I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to do this. On a normal day, I wake up turn on my computer and check my Facebook, and my email. Then I turn on my TV and just channel surf until I'm bored. After I get dressed and brush my teeth, I'll call a friend on my phone to see if he or she wants to go eat. I'll put on my backpack and lock up my dorm. As I walk to class or to eat, I listen to my ipod while I walk. When I'm done with class I usually call my mom or dad on the phone, mostly because I'm bored. When I get back to my room I usually check my email and facebook while the TV is on. Then I'll play video games in my room or a friends room. I usually end up talking on the phone with a friend about going to play some basketball in the gym or go workout. Then if I'm hungry I would pop some popcorn in the microwave. My day would end with me falling asleep to my TV on a low volume. Not this day; on this day, I woke up and just sat there for a second sitting up on my bed looking confused. So, I just got up and washed my face and brushed my teeth. I got dressed and went to go eat by myself. My pockets felt empty without a cellphone and my ipod in them. I ended up sleeping more on that day because I had nothing to occupy my time. I went for a run, without an ipod of course. I got more homework done because I had no distractions. I also ended up going to bed early because I usually watch TV until the late hours of the night. It was a pretty crazy day, but I do realize now how dependent we are on technology.

Directions I could take for my video game
1. Killing someone when it is not nesessary. This involves weather killing someone is ever needed. I could take the direction from a military point of view. In the game you have the decision to kill people, evade them, or even immobilize them for a short amount of time.
2. The cold war. I could take on all of the ethical decisons or just one main topic involving the cold war. With this I would be getting more into the politics of war and the cold war to be specific.
3. Ethics of weather or not the U.S. should be so involved with other countries. The U.S. is sometimes seen as sticking their nose where it doesnt belong. Is this right or wrong? We try and control the world to some extent.

The game I chose was Metal Gear Solid. The sources I found were both about the creator of the game, Hideo Kojima. This information was very helpful because now that I understand the creator of the game a little more, the game itself makes a lot more sense. One source was from the BBC news site and the other was actually a video from you tube about Hideo Kojima. They helped me understand where he gets his inspiration from and where he began in his videogame career. The video goes through his struggles in making a game and becoming known even though he was ahead of his time. The BBC article discusses his childhood and his inspirations. He was also inspired by film. He didn’t originally put video games and film together, but realized that they are very similar. Both of these sources will help out greatly with my paper.

3 Video Games
The first game I played was called “5 minutes to kill yourself.” It was a really fun and entertaining game to play. It was a game from the adult swim website. The game was about this guy that was really stressed out at work and literally wanted to kill himself. So you literally had 5 minutes to kill him. While walking around the office building, you had to find things that would harm the guy. The items would add up to the overall health of the man, and if you injured him enough before the 5 minutes were over, he would be dead. Of the three categories of games, this would have to be a “serious” game. It shows how stress in the workplace can really get to someone to the point that it would make him want to kill himself. The purpose was to entertain and inform of the stresses at the workplace. The audience would be for anyone bored playing on the computer. This game is geared towards a newer genre and has a fun spunky style.
The second game I played was called “amateur surgeon.” Out of the three I played, this was definitely the most fun. This was also from the adult swim website. It was about a pizza delivery guy that was a “wanna be” surgeon. While on a delivery, he hit’s a man with his car. The man he hit was actually a surgeon and he walks you though steps on how to fix him. You go on different levels, performing surgery on different people. This could also be considered a “serious” game. This could actually be realistic, although very unlikely. The purpose of this game was to entertain and also possibly teach you some surgical skills. The audience would be bored people online playing videogames and other “wanna be” surgeons.
The last game I played was “fat world.” This game was a lot more interactive than the other two. You create a world with your own character and interact with the rest of the world. You experiment with the politics of nutrition and the relationships between social and economic conditions of health. You make your own diet and plan an exercise regimen. You can try to live to be 100 or try and die in a day. Its all up to you and its very fun. This would have to be a “persuasive” game. It is trying to inform you and persuade you on how life is. In the game you can vote for political decisions regarding many types of issues.
